Route Surveying
A route survey locates the planned path of a project or right of way which crosses a parcel of real estate, which extends from one known point to another. A route survey is required to plan a right of way, the acquisition an easement, and for any construction lay-out work. A route survey is made on the ground to determine the location of right of way lines, center-line, or reference lines in relation to property lines and terrain features.
Route surveys will be used for, but are not limited to, the following applications:
- Roadways and highways
- Railroads
- Transmission lines
- Pipelines
- Canals, waterways, drainage ditches, and sewers
